PROJECT 1

PRESIDENT STREET Charleston, SC

This was a big yellow lemon of a house wrapped in vinyl Ben spotted while riding his bike. Built in 1919, the structure had some beautiful details we wanted to keep, and a lot we didn't - namely the fake wood paneling and multi-colored shag carpet everywhere. We completely gutted the place exposing all original floors and brick, outfitted it with all new systems, and fully opened up the floor plan. All structural and decorative beams and kitchen shelving came from a barn in Georgia - beautiful heart pine all from the same decade the house was built.

Big thanks to NY Times for featuring us and our home in their On Location section - see it HERE
